About the Author

Gregrey F. Lind is an author, researcher, and retired professional whose work seamlessly bridges the gap between meticulous technical analysis and deeply engaging narrative storytelling. Drawing from a diverse and structured background, Greg crafts compelling books that explore regional folklore, historical mysteries, and complex operations.
Raised with a deep appreciation for the oral histories and traditions of the Midwest, Greg developed an analytical mindset early in life. This calculating approach served him well during his distinguished career in the United States Army, where he specialized as a Signals Intelligence Specialist and Electronics Maintenance Chief. Following decades of dedicated service, he retired from the military in 1998, leaving behind a legacy of discipline and precision.
After his military retirement, Greg transitioned into the private sector, applying his leadership and technical expertise to the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry. He earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), further sharpening his strategic and operational acumen. As an Engineering Field Manager, he successfully oversaw cellular network maintenance across a massive eight-state region for a major national carrier, managing complex infrastructure and high-stakes technical environments before his recent retirement.
Today, Greg channels his investigative nature and methodical mind into historical research and creative writing. His books blend rigorous factual investigation with vivid prose, capturing the imagination of readers looking for both depth and drama.
Much of his inspiration for storytelling can be traced back to his grandmother, Flora, whose rich oral histories instilled in him a lifelong passion for preserving the past.
At the heart of Greg’s life is his family. He is happily married, the proud father of two adult children, and a grandfather to five grandchildren. Together with his wife, he shares a deep love for travel, constantly seeking out new adventures and exploring new horizons. An active outdoorsman, Greg is happiest when he is outside, especially when he is surrounded by friends and family around a campfire, spinning great yarns and keeping the tradition of a well-told story alive.
He resides in Eastern Iowa, where he remains dedicated to his family, his research, and the preservation of regional history.
